UX - Accom.ai

My Role: All UX research, interviewing, compiling information, and product vision and thinking.

Goals: Develop a strategy to meet and exceed the status quo experience on accommodation booking platforms.

Timeline: 1 month

Client: Mizko

Results: A clear direction for the client to build the first MVP of the app.

Partnered with Mizko to research and explore the options of a new AI assisted travel booking app, aiming to ease the process of booking a vacation.

In this project, the client was frustrated with their previous booking experience and was looking to create an accommodation booking platform with a more refined search.

Objective: With findings from user interviews, personas, customer journey mapping, competitor analysis, and feature prioritization, we can develop a strategy to meet and exceed the status quo experience on accommodation booking platforms.

The data collected from user interviews was placed in a figjam board to be able to visually see all the information that was discovered. This data is then organized into categories such as painpoints, delights, opportunities, and insights. It's amazing what you can uncover just by asking the audience about their experience.

Our user interviews unraveled key pain points, guiding us in what would be needed with Accom.ai

The purpose behind the research initiative was to help us gain a deeper understanding of the accommodation booking experience for traveling couples to be better informed on the validity of our product assumption.

With the information collected, 2 separate personas were formed. Needing to go in one direction at first, we had to choose one. The MVP app would be based on couples traveling.

We also uncovered where the status quo with other apps was currently at by researching what the other companies were doing as far as product, marketing, and support. We also note where there are opportunities that each company could improve, showing us where this app can already start exceeding expectations.

I created a prioritization matrix of the possible features of the app. They are all ranked based on the impact each feature would have and how much effort it would take. Then, taking all this information, I combine it into a foundational report to present to the client, giving them all the research they need to create their first MVP of the accommodation booking app. And with that, this UX project was completed.
